KSFIoM DAG Chat

"A small group of determined people can change the course of history"

The group's primary objective was the 100% return of all KSFIoM Depositors' funds. We have achieved that objective.

Welcome...

The gradual shutdown of this site is underway

This site and www.ksfiomdepositors.org will be shut down soon, probably during January or February 2021. At that point, the ksfiomdepositors.org, chat.ksfiomdepositors.org and ksfiomdag.com URLs will all be routed to a simple page which briefly explains what has happened. That page will hopefully continue to work until October-22 2023, or shortly afterwards, which is when the domain registration for ksfiomdepositors.org expires.

Update 8-Jan-2020

All user accounts here for users who have not logged in to the site within the past 2 years have now been deleted. Any posts in the system made by those users will now be shown as anonymous.

Update 11-Jan-2020

Deletion of user accounts for users who have not logged in to the site within the past year is next. Login now or very soon if you want to retain your account here until the bitter end!

Update 19-Jan-2020

All user accounts here for users who have not logged in to the site within the past year have now been deleted. About 115 remain. Those I will leave until the final shutdown, which may not now be until February as I'm rather overloaded with work at the moment.

Final comments?

If you would like to provide a comment or other content to be included for our site's "obituary" page, please (preferably) post it in the comments to this page, otherwise send it via the site contact form or (if logged in here) my contact page here, or as a last resort, via my own site. Please include any name you would like to show it as submitted by. I am gradually deleting user accounts here, and user-names disappear with them.

Comments are now enabled on this page.

Comments are enabled on this page. The forum areas are still working for the moment, but for simplicity you can write in comments here (log in required).

Blast from the past

If you feel up to it, you can read the original Your Stories thread here. The first post there (chronologically) is from Fri, 10/10/2008 - 03:05, and (I'm fairly certain) was written by Mat Walter, who originally set up this site. There seem to be issues (for me anyway) with the comment display order feature - it may work better if you're logged out.

Alternatively: well you have to smile

Thank you

Hi Ng: I'd like to keep access to this site to the end, so I'm logging in again, as per your instructions.

And not logging out until I've once more extended deep thanks to everyone who had anything to do with the site. It has been a real lifeline over the years.

I send good wishes to all of us,
Sunny1

Forever Grateful

Diver, Ng, Agrinaut, Site Admin, and the MANY others I haven’t mentioned, THANK you ALL so MUCH for your efforts to analyse news and data and to inform the rest of us. It has been such a help, comfort and guide to be able to receive news opinions and updates. Throughout our 12 years of worry. I’m even reminded of how in 2009 I flew over from Botswana and drove directly to Buxton to demonstrate with placards outside the Derbyshire BS! In the end it’s all more or less worked out, and we are more fortunate than many. Indeed I’m grateful I’m still on the planet and if I can dodge COVID, I’m going to hopefully going to spoil myself with my returned savings.
Thanks to ALL once again. We are ever grateful.
PS Thanks also to Cottesmore for the funnies!

Brief History

In response to a specific request by ng and with the full support of the rest of the DAG team, I have drafted a 'brief history' together with practical advice for any depositors coming late to the party which I hope will provide the basic content for the 'obituary site'. Although I've tried to be as concise as seems plausible, it's a bit long to post fully here, so I have emailed it directly to ng. I just wanted you all to know that something is hopefully in the pipeline.

It's been a long and often rocky road, but we finally achieved our ambitious goal (and even a bit more!) and it's good to feel that we ended up in the best place that we could reasonably hope for. Thanks to all who have played their part in this over the years. To quote from my proposed brief history, 'We believe the DAG played a significant part in this remarkable result, though sadly it came too late for those who died along the way or who never recovered from the violent disruption of their lives brought about by the greed of reckless bankers.'

Best wishes and stay safe in 2021,
anrigaut

Re original Stories

Hi ng,

No doubt a typo, but I think his name was Walker (not Walter).

I had wondered whether some of these stories might be linked to in the Obituary page. I could supply you with extracts from 11 of these which I prepared a while back for another purpose, selected to illustrate some of the typical circumstances I refer to in my brief history. I'll email them to you.

Mat Walker

Typo now fixed.

I'm very pleased to have discovered, just this morning, that Mat is alive and kicking, despite his radio silence. I had found an old email address of his (in the our stores thread) so wrote to it, and he replied. So, good news.

Your Stories

I'm trying to find 'Your Stories'. Your letter 'here' doesn't respond. I cannot find it on the site.
Please advise.

Your stories URL

Here's the direct URL: http://chat.ksfiomdepositors.org/node/21
That should work for you.

There's so much stuff here

> Would like to offer myself for interview on any medium from 5 Nov to 13 Nov in London or southern UK.

> Ex RAF pilot who, amongst other things, flew Thatcher, Major and Blair plus the Royals out of Northolt in London. Was a loyal servant of my Queen and country for 28 years. Put my life on the line many times to protect ALL British citizens where ever they may have been. The Falklands is an excellent example of this type of service. We protected the interests of British people in far off places. I expect nothing different now. Recently left the RAF and am working in the Gulf. Lost my life savings and retirement fund. No working life left to replace it. Retirement is not far away. I am an expat, but am a current UK tax payer on various incomes.

> ... I am prepared to return my commissioning scroll to the Queen in that I have kept my end of the deal by giving a lifetime of service to her and my country. The country has not honoured their end of the deal. Now, my Government is abandoning British people like myself in favour of others. This is not right. We all deserve protection from our own country no matter what our circumstances.

Dunno, why but it seems important to me.
