The important issue of tax fairness will be considered at the next Positive Action Group (PAG) public meeting when the guest speaker will be former IOM Assessor of Income Tax, Mark Solly.

"The Manx Herald editor notes:-

“Tax expert, Mr Solly, is concerned that we are moving to a system of income tax which bears more heavily on the least well off in our community and that little attempt has been made to tell the public, in plain language, the likely consequences of the proposed changes.”

Since when did the disgustingling flawed Isle of Man government care a toss for the island’s “community”?
And when did it ever inform the “public” in anything approaching “plain language”.

There is no freedom of information on the island and the government will only allow the “public” a level of resources and prosperity that will prevent organised revolution. The approaching “election” is just another act in the charade and a sop to the island’s proud, but lamentably misled, people.

Meanwhile the government and its toadies and lackeys continue to cosy to the financial services industry and banking industries operating opaque and obscure “products” to a rich and powerful elite."
