Allan Bell is the new chief minister

Allan Bell is the new chief minister of the Isle of Man, but only after astonishing scenes in Tynwald.

Mr Bell was voted in with 27 votes in favour in the secret ballot. Only three votes were cast in favour of Mr Karran and there were two spoiled papers.

That vote was then confirmed in an electronic vote taken in public. That saw 29 votes for Mr Bell.
