People keep asking me what they can do to help, well, here's one thing.

Take our latest press release and sent it, TODAY, to 20 MPs. It doesn't matter if you've sent it before, it doesn't matter which MPs you send it to. The whole point of the exercise is to spam their inboxes with info on our plight so that they know what's going on and REMEMBER who we are.

I realise some MPs will get missed out and some will get 100 mails but it doesn't matter, we're looking for volume rather than precision. Think Blitzkreig and Shock and Awe rather than laser guided attacks.

Many IT folk may know this...I didn;t and I ssupect there are other IT dummies out there like me who might find this saves them time
If you have outlook - go to Contacts
Go to Actions and make a New Distribution List
Then go to select members
Copy a list of e-mails (Control C)- eg all of the e-mails in the list I just posted
Put your cursor in the Members box and paste the list (control V) and bingo you have just added as many people as you like (I think there is a limit, so probably do 20 at a time) and you have a mailing list
Give your Distribution list a name
Copy your letter or press release into a new e-mail
Go to Bcc and select your Distribution list frmo your address book
Press send
Bingo - lots of messages and you can keep pestering those people on your distribution list every time we get an update or new press release
Happy mailing

Hopefully will provoke some reaction, especially combined with current press bombardment!! I move back to press blitzing..

The letter below just gone to 23 MPs. PLEASE - everybody do your part !...

MP email addresses readily available via Google, and many posted here already.

I would appreciate just a few moments of your valuable time.
I am writing to you to highlight how prudent British savers with Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander (Isle of Man) Ltd. (KS&F IOM) have been seriously disadvantaged in the recent government's action against Icelandic banks.
I appeal for your assistance in preventing my family and many more trapped in the cross-fire between the UK and Iceland from facing financial catastrophe as a result of the blunders of the Government.
You will no doubt be aware of the PM and Chancellor's action earlier this month when they invoked anti-terrorism legislation to seize Icelandic banks' assets in the UK. This was heralded as a move to "protect all British savers". Their action caused the Isle of Man government to suspend the license of KS&F IOM, since a very large proportion of KSF (IOMs) liquid assets were held by the London branch of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander hf in London. Still today, some GBP 550 Million belonging to savers in the IOM bank is frozen by the UK government. This represents the bulk of the approximately GBP 850 Million of British savers' money deposited with KS&F IOM. There is now evidence indicating that the Treasury intends to use these funds to cover Icelandic debts and NOT return them to savers!
The British government's orders to the Liquidators of the Icelandic banks in the UK, Ernst & Young, are for reasons best known to the PM and the Treasurer, SEALED! This is an unprecedented action. This action is preventing the Provisional Liquidator of KSF (IOM) accessing the funds of KSF (IOM) now frozen in the UK.
Some 8,169 savers, the bulk of them British, are now facing financial ruin as a result of this action. Unless the money is returned to the bank in the Isle of Man, enabling it to meet its obligations to depositors, many will loose their life time savings. These British savers in many cases had no option but to place their hard earned savings offshore, ironically because of measures to prevent terrorism in the form of anti-money laundering regulations that preclude them holding a bank account in Britain if they do not have a British home address.
I, along with the many other depositors of the bank in the Isle of Man now stand to lose the vast majority of my life time savings. Like many, I am not wealthy - a common miss-conception by many of savers who are temporarily working overseas, and forced to bank offshore. The vast majority who find themselves in the middle of this mess are British savers. But the government's action, intentional or not, has excluded us from any protection other than the possible assistance of the Isle of Man savers' protection scheme. By it's very nature, this scheme will take many many years to provide any form of recompense, and then to only a fraction of the savings I held with KSF (IOM).
The KSF IOM Depositors Action Group have created a web site in an effort to bring together those affected by this disaster. I urge you to take a look at some of the harrowing stories. The lives of many people affected by this disaster will never be the same again if a satisfactory outcome is not reached.
I speak for my fellow depositors when I say that we would expect the government to be honourable and extend its protection to "all British savers" by releasing the funds seized from KSF IOM, and not just those who by luck presently fall under the government's protection.
Please feel free to call me at any time at your convenience.
I attach two further documents:
- A Press release made from the KSF IOM Depositors Action Group 2 days ago
- An example of some of the questions we have posed to the Treasury, so far without answer. Please, I would urge you to seek answers to these questions on our behalf, and on behalf of all UK citizens.
Once again, I beg you for any assistance you can give to help us right this gross injustice
Yours sincerely

Finally done my 20 - plus those already "hit" yesterday.
As per Divers suggestion - after going for the obvios BIG ones I just looked through for names I remembered as being Heavyweight and then tossed letters into the air to begin to find a name -
Some sent an immediate automated reply but if we all did this we could probably get 'em interested.
It takes time - but WILL be worth it.

I may be aiming high here, but sent PR to CNN and WashingtonPost.

Mr Brown had given WashingtonPost an article saying how he saved the world; so i thought they could be interested.

...that not everyone start with the 'As' in the list of MPs....we could have a serious amount of emails going to a handfull of MPs....amusing but not that productive! :-) As a suggestion...pick your own initials and email to MPs whose surnames start with those letters...if that doesn't make twenty then go nuts! Pick some random ones!

Thanks to this list I have just realised that the MP for my former UK constituency (Sheffield Hallam) is now leader of the Lib Dems. So I have sent him a plea for help from a former constituent, enclosing the Press Release.
