This is to test the new USA Group. This is in the forum but invisible to anyone who is not in the USA Group. - that way it won't bug people if you talk about local issues.

If you can see this but are not in the USA Group, something is wrong! Please message me.

I am a UK citizen and have been a member of this group for a while. Do you want us to do anything locally to advance our cause?

I am certainly not a computer wizz. I am do not know how to add a comment or for instance, propose a group leader for a particular group. I see the "add commemt" button commenting on a posting that is on the group site, but how do you add a new posting??

On the left you should see a box that says "Geo: USA" and there "Create Group discussion topic" - click that! We are gradually migrating away from the old "public/global" forum view.

We can create a Canada group, or rename the USA group to USA and Canada - whatever people want. Either way, please use the Request Site Editor action link (top right).

Thanks for the thanks :) You should also receive emails of posts and comments in the Group - people can turn that option off if they don't like it. There's currently a small problem in the formatting of the email messages, but no big deal, I'll fix it one day.

as I am waiting for my UK pounds the exchange rate is down to almost $1.60, so not only have I potentially lost my money, at the least lost interest, now I lose because of the weakening pound. I guess I'm glad I'm earning dollars, but doesn't help with assets in the UK

Yes the rate is falling right now. I have been learning and demo day trading on the Forex (Foreign Currency Exchange Market) since March. I just started trading live with the tiny amount of $ I have left in an attempt to make some money. It's such hard work.

The GBP/USD rate is tanking right now, all my indication arrows are pointing down all the way from the Monthly chart to the 1 minute - I've never seen the arrows point down on every single time frame.

I trade the GBP/YEN and that's also tanking, in times of uncertainty there is a flight to safety (USD & YEN) which is why they're both so strong right now, all the other currencies are being offloaded as the market is nervous and looking for a sense of direction.

Rate is currently 1.6310 and has dropped through the Asian trading session, we still have London and New York to come on and they'll push it lower.

I'm glad to hear you're earning dollars, if I can pull this trading thing off I'll be earning $ too otherwise I'll be cocktail waitressing by next weekend cause all my money was in Kaupthing IOM. The choice was 1.5% interest at Bank Of America or 7% at Kaupthing.

I'll keep you posted on the rate.

good luck with the waitressing, atleast in the US you get better tips than in the UK.

1.63 must be a 5-6 year low, I remember in 200o it was about 1.4

This is my first year in the US, part of the year I was in the UK, has anyone any idea of my tax liabilities?
