Reminder: How to unsubscribe to Posts etc..

Very active Posts to which you have subscribed generates lots of e-mails to you. You can stop e-mails by unregistering from any Post as follows:

  • either click on 'My Account' under your name in left-hand column
  • or click on your name

this will take you to your personal Account Page.

  • then click on 'Notifications'
  • then click on a relevant topic under 'Type' (eg: 'Threads') which will open a window where you can un-click a tick in a tick box.

Select your preferred way to display the comments and click "Save settings" to activate your changes.

Duplicate notifications

Thanks for that notice LJ, I'll add there have been some duplicates going out as a result of the server move yesterday. furthermore, no notifications were sent from Wednesday pm through to Friday evening, resulting in large numbers going out on Friday night. Things should now be back to normal.

In general, you may receive duplicate notifications if you are effectively subscribed twice (or more) to the same item, e.g. by Group and Author.

I'm wondering if the current range of subscription options are too complex, and maybe we should trim them down to just "subscribe to this thread" and perhaps "subscribe to this author".
