Seems to be working well, any thoughts?

  • Too simple / too complex?

Hi ng... my comment is that I think the News feature is great, but when you view it, it is a little too stretched out. I think there need to be more items on each page and less blank lines within each particular item, but keep the blank lines between each posting. This would make each item have more impact and make it easier to quickly browse down. Rather like when you view a news item on Google... it's so easy for the eye to separate each bit.

Agreed, plan is to have an alternative condensed view ... like a lot of things, its on the to-do list!

I wondered about adding something there to specify that its media coverage about us - so that they could be filtered and shown on a separate display (as opposed to all news.)

I was going to put it there originally, then I thought it was pointless because people might as well look at the news link itself. Thinking about it now, advantage is that the summary will be searchable here. So, ok, watch this space.

Looks Good thanks. Once you get used to adding a news item it's fine. One comment though. Would it be possible for the "new news items" or breaking news to be flagged up anywhere else on the site as the news item is posted?

Already on my to-do list. Like everyone, I'm flat-out and trying to focus on key functionality needed, leaving the "nice to have" features until later. People already see the news in "newest first" order, all they have to do is click "In the News" - maybe I should just call that link "Breaking news" instead?

Yep fully understand ng. I wouldn't change it to "breaking news" as it would soon become old news. We can all look at "In the News" no problem.
