I strongly believe it is time to organise a demonstration in London & possibly IOM.
I have done all I can in research, email and phone calls. I myself have spent every waking hour, plus help from family to get support and information from the powers that be, now we've hit a brick wall.
My situation is "in-flight transfer".
An employee at IOM has told me, as my account show zero, I will not be eligible for £50k compensation (not that I want it).
Ernst & Young will not give me answers, even through I've done what they recommended and sent prove of my transfer being held by KSF UK.
Will anyone join me in a demonstration outside E&Y on Hanover St London. I also think we should be present at the Treasury meeting as Darling makes his way there too. IOM possibly to get answers from M. Simpson
I know some will think we need T-shirts and matching placards, but I think we need to move faster at the moment, perhaps future demonstrations we could include those things.
Your local sign maker can make vinyl letters on a board for a few pounds, then get a stick from B&Q! Anyone got a megafone? or look on e-bay.
For the doubters out there, remember fox hunting. 1m people marched on London to protect their right to kill a fox with a dog! (I live in the countryside,it's still happening).
Last week women from Northern Ireland demostrated for abortion rights.
We are losing ours lives, I will be homeless in months with my wife, 2yr old daughter & 4mth old son! If it can be done for a bloody fox, we can do it.
There must be enough UK residents able to travel. I live in Lancs/Yorks region, I have a 7 seater, it's old but I'll drive & share fuel costs with anyone on the way.
I feel we are all pinning hopes on Darling standing up and being held accountable, it ain't going to be that easy. Because if he does, he's signing up to returning (give in his view) us & all the Channel Islands Billions.
E&Y won't or can't give answers they are normally legally required to give, we need to show we won't be silenced, and demand an answer to at least why information is being witheld, if not the information itself.
Information on in-flights and the £555m etc.
Come on get off your seat on do this, I even saw Richard Hammond outside a mobile phone company with a megafone calling for answers for a TV show. See! it's so easy and may get us nearer the outcome we must have.
I can't sit in front of this monitor any longer, looking for a glimmer of news that gives me hope.

Can we get a signing up poll going?

Who will join me...??

I would be happy to fly in from Canada and demonstrate.

I would need a bit of time to organise with work and also would want more than 100 people to be there -I am sure we could rally friends to join us - each person bring a friend.

Yes we need a poll or people just to get down to london

I want to ressurect this forum topic - I have tried to guage feedback but doesn't appear to be hot topic.

Again its the visual against the written:-

demos attack media
they inspire
they are loud
people watch

I would be happy to participate and spend $200 getting carpenter friend to make placards

I like the idea complete with placards and t shirts

No need to get them made especially decide on a coulour and paint on them.

After all someone has literally taken the shirts off out backs anyway but to go shirtless is a bit chilly in November for any would be descamisados!

As so many of us live abroad we would need some advance warning in order to get there.

Also should we wait until some political statement is made?

Does anyone think there will be one?

Also we will need a good slogan-

how about

SILENCE OF THE LAMBS

WHY ARE WE BEING FLEECED?

or LOST

LIFE IN LIMBO

I am beginning to think I have strayed into a production of 'Lost' anyway.

Probably as yet we are unaffected by buyout....but it does mean that there is a lot of movement going on and clearly negotiations continue. I personally would have though it is slightly positive news, but it is still very much a question of watch this space...

Reading the above article I get the impression that Grundberg Mocatta Rakison LLP has been contacted by one or more depositors or perhaps more likely Skandia or similar companies since they are looking into whether they can represent the IOM depositors. Does anyone know anything about this?

I think we need a poll for 3 questions:
How many will attend treasury "line up"
How many will attend demonstration outside E&Y with placard + self written white T-shirt
How many can do both
All for Monday 3rd

These are my ideas, anyone with better, be quick and lets get it all agreed.

I think a demonstration is an excellent idea - but it'll falter if there aren't enough people to warrant media coverage. I don't live in the UK and would need to travel to attend the demo, but I'd be happy to do so if I can be sure that there will be a substantial number of people turning up to make it worthwhile.

Podcar,
The capital arm of the bank was not put into administration but was owned by KSF UK. The administrators E&Y have been doing their job and selling assets. The management have bought for an undisclosed sum the 67% of shares they did not already own.
E&Y will be trying to make as much money as possible from the UK assets and this is good news for us if KSF IoM are eventually regarded as simply a depositor and have to wait with others (including HMG who are in for £2.3 Billion) for the assets to be realised.
