This article may be of some interest as both N U and your IFA should have been aware that Kaupthing was at very high risk back in March 2008. The bit about Iceland is at the end of the article.
Me too. Apart from the initial letter, I have had two letters informing me of hikes in the fees !!
I have written to the MD of both Aviva & the Norwich. Receiving a standard letter back assuring me that my case 'will be looked into'.
I have called the Norwich. to be told , in effect, that they will communicate with my IFA, and sympathising with my plight.
I am incandecsent with rage, and there is no place to vent it. How dare they treat a customer this way? If they had not recommended the KSF IOM, then my IFA wouldn't have had the option to deposit my money there. And this was a deposit, NOT an investment.
I have informed my IFA, that due to the 'wrapper' effect upon possible compensation, I will be looking to his PI for further cover. I suggest you do the same.
By the way, there are apparently only 120 Norwich customers in our position (allegedly, as they haven't actually said). You would think that they would just give us our money back in order to preserve their reputation. The sum total of all our losses must be less than they spend on advertising in a week. And believe me, if I do not get my money back, I will make such a fuss, all over the media, that it would be cheaper to shut me up !!

Would you like a NU Group? We have one for Skandia. Basically, Groups allow people with similar interests to share a common area - postings that you make can either be made "public" so visible to everybody, or "private" to the Group. This allows you to more easily converse with people in a similar position, and the public forums don't get "cluttered" with information that's may only be of interest to a sub-section of the community.
Let me know (use my "contact" link) - it's very quick to set up.
Just asking yet again ..Are there other people with Clerical medical insurance ltd,iom in the action group? If so,have you received any more information as to what plans of action they are undertaking to regain our money?
