Although I have given John Leech (Liberal MP, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Manchester, M21), I now need assistance in what I can do next for him to pursue our cause. He wants me to prove that I can't open a savings account in the UK and so I will get the necessary documentation by visiting various building societies. He asked me how many depositors are affected by KSFiom and this I couldn't answer. I don't know how many are in the 25% group above £50,000, including myself, can anyone tell me please?

I feel this is an opportunity not to be missed that John Leech can pursue for us all. I know many MP's have been contacted before but I am in a position that perhaps this is another 'fresh' attempt. What can I ask John Leech to do for us now?

I return to Australia next Monday 10 August but I can give him a lot of paperwork before I leave. He wrote to me today, here is his email:

'Thank you for coming to see me at my surgery on Saturday 01 August 2009. I will wait to receive some further information from you or the DAG. Just to let you know that I will be away from 8th August (next Saturday) for 2 weeks'.

Kind regards

John Leech

If you send your email address to ksfiom(?)live [dot] co [dot] uk I will reply with what I have.

So far I have contacted the FSA, BBA and Ombudsman on this subject. Present status is that the Ombudsman is waiting on further reply from me. It is very much a work in progress and I have limited time available but you are welcome to what I have.

My intention is to try to develop a case against HMG for disregarding the fact that they had denied us access to British Banks whilst they knowinlgy were in process of Bankrupting a bank in a British Crown Dependancy which was one of a limited amount of other practicable options open to us due to their actions. It won't fly in the UK courts since HMG make the rules there but it might stand a chance in the European courts.

The Landsbanki Guernsey DAG pursued this very aspect of opening a UK bank account and sent people out to do so. I believe they have a large database of this information that clearly shows that it is nigh on impossible to open an account in the UK as an expat. You might find the info on their websitehttp://info.landsbankiaction.org.gg/
