Is the Group aware that IoM banks are socking 50 billion pounds sterling into the UK economy each year by investing in the City of London as the biggest local financial market. Obviously Dopey Darling didn't take this into account when he spoke of taking a long hard look at the IoM as an offshore banking centre. I have no doubt that Chief Minister Tony Brown brought this to the attention of HMG during the IoM delegation's recent visit to London. Since the UK is doing so much business with the IoM its a pity they could not be a little more concillitary in their dealings with the KSF IoM Depositors Action Group. Its a pity that the powers to be in the IoM could not use the business arrangement that they have with the UK as a lever to get our money back. Its the assets of depositors like us that is supporting the UK economy.

Greetings Steveejeb. I found the article quite by accident when looking for the fax number for Tony Brown. The link is
http://www.iomtoday.co.im/Chief-minister-wants-Isle-of.4284265.jp
The article heading is "Chief minister wants Isle of Man to lose
'offshore' tag and is dated July 14th 2008.
