Liquidation is not a door that closes. It's a long process with inputs from various parties.

Liquidation - a Crop

Speaking from the perspective of a farmer. This process reminds me of growing a crop. I am used to planting crops, nursing them through attacks from pests, diseases, floods, droughts often thinking it would fail. This last harvest was nearly the final straw with all we'd worked for lying sopping in the fields and being too wet to harvest for of August. At that point with the most difficult harvest for forty years, I stood to lose more than I may yet do in the IoM. Then eventually the sun shone and we salvaged crops that with extra expense of drying mostly are of poorer quality to be sold at a lower price than we budgeted for.
That's life, sh*t happens, it teaches you patience. Governments don't need you 'till they're short of something (last year). My only fear with this crop of KS&F(IoM) is that we're held in the same regard by this government as farmers were until last year.
The only hope is to keep writing a few letters here, then there, in the belief that persistence wins through.
Liquidation is killing the crop and hoping someone'll pay you something for the straw!

Do we think KSF will not be would up tomorrow ? if it does not happen is it all down to wether the funds can be got at or is it a bit more than that. Part of me wants something sorted quickly as would be good to actually get some sleep at night, but if it does get would up (I may be alone but I think it will) is there a plan B ?

Where is the darn money?
It must be somewhere?
Why do we have to be the losers in this?
Where is justice?

Your Hotel in Isle of Man , Thanks, and a Question

We love you Expat.
Could you please give me the phone number and email for your hotel in the IOM. I wish I could be in the IOM to go to the hearing tomorrow but I am half way across the World - are you representing us in the hearing?

I want to leave an initial small token of appreciation to you at the hotel, and if I leave you my personal email address can you email me your phone number to talk to you briefly. I am in the 12% end of high depositors.

We are more than grateful to you especially but also occams razor, Diver, Ziggy, bblair, coldp
and any others with you working in the bunker. I like the idea that we could have all become a CoOperative Bank headed up by Expat.

Also "Hopper", who thankfully is "in the know" as he works in the world of finance himself and a very valuable leader in the Action group. .

However I contacted Hoppers solicitors and wanting to join their action using the Quistclose Case Law re: incomplete chaps and swift transfers. I had actioned two swift transfers on the 7th and 8th.
8th statement says the Swift transfers were "paid out" with the new reduced balance left in the account and 20 pound swift charges, very unfortunately for me I have just had confirmed from Kaupthing IOM that my Swifts were caught up in the backlog and are still in the bank not in the UK clearing bank.

Do you know a legal group legal case RE: another potential legal claim against the funds actioned before administration Swift & Chaps but still stuck in the back log KIOM?
Best regards Hope to hear from you.

I'm in chirpy frame today if that is any good!? No doom and gloom from me today. Just watched the Channel-4 stuff; just the thing we need.

Go for it Douglas crew!!! (And the London lot as well!)

everyone is pulling together and ensuring that if the UK Treasury want a fight, then they will damn well get one! They are trying to weedle out of this with inaccurate statements - no way hosay!

Thanks everyone - we are ALL behind you!

tis a touch late hefre and no doubt this post will get lost, so please keep reposting it

! remember that we are proffesional expats, we repesnet the uk out in the field, we are a greater force than UK gov in our experince of who we represent

2 the next step is destroy the idea that we can either open an accounnt or even deposit money on the IoM without producing legal documetation to comply with the EU 2003 directive about money laundering

make sure that that is seen by evety mediaa outlet and politician you know

3 destroy jon snow silly remarks at the end of a good media exposure about money laundering drug barons

thanks people keeep this post going please

You are absolutely right. We should aim and expect ALL our money back. Not 50K .. not 10K .. all of it. We have worked for this. There are a lot of good news but also some challenegs. Let's not make challenges into defeats.

hehe cheers Expat. Most of us are far from the action, and not galvanized by interactions with reporters and officials. you are closer to it than us so we need your confidence to give us some.

I believe that we will succeed. The press has taken a big step in its coverage today, and coming soon there will be a major expose of this scandal in a serious broadsheet. things are building up.

Rally in London

On a more positive note, I think we should get together and rally in London in the none-too-distant-future. It would help with morale at the minimum. Go out for a few pints afterwards. The handing over of the petition was done at too short notice - insufficient time to arrange to come over for that.
