So we can get a better idea of how much money in involved, please state how much you had with Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander when they collapsed. This is give us (and any interested authorities) an idea of how much we are talking about.

It does not have to be an exact figure, but as near as you are willing to state online. Perhaps best not to state the exact true amount for security reasons.

let's make this happen, we need to consolidate our ideas and take action.

Understandably most will not be able to travel but can we set a date and time?

re Iceland posting - it was one of the reasons I felt secure, gorgeous country with sincere and trustworthy folk - in hindsight crazy to endorse economy which outweighed liabilities and quantity of citizens - we have all been succerpunched because of the 100% parental guarantee and this must e our focus regardless of Iceland economic shaky position because it will be borrowed from somewhere otherwise they become disgraced nation - my guess is Russia bail out in exchange for domestic control - it's to both parties

I had a total of approximately £ 950,000 ( Nine hundred and sixty thousand Pounds ) plus interest in four separate accounts with Kaupthing Edge( IOM) ( about £41K) and Kaupthing Singer and Friendlander (IOM)
( 909K) . Mostly in Sterling and some US$ . This money was from the sale of a business that I had worked at for the whole of my working life . Like many others here this was a lifetime of hard work and saving rather than just "sponging" off the welfare state as many individuals choose to do in the UK . It now appears that the thanks from the UK government for doing this will be a big kick in the teeth . Ironically the only reason that these funds were still in these banks at the time of the collapse was because they had originally all been in Kaupthing Edge but I could only withdraw these funds via one designated bank . An employee of Kaupthing Edge advised me to use KSF ( IOM) as my designated bank for withdrawls to simplify setting up the account . The delay in having to first transfer my money via KSF(IOM) has meant that I have probably now lost evrything ! I would be interested if there is anybody else who stands to lose a sum of this size ?
If it transpires that we do not receive 100% full compensation I would strongly suggest that we all get together to produce maximum media focus on this issue and turn this into an embarassment to the government . This line of action worked successfully a few years ago when the UK government attempted to exclude the widows of deceased individuals who had held joint named accounts from receiving payments in the Cheltenham and Gloucester take-over payouts . The national publicity created by the editorials of the BBC made the government do a U-turn !

Just retired, just sold my house. The house sale funds were being transferred through KS&F to HSBC but failed. Had a fixed term bond with KS&F and a small cash account. Total loss IRO £600K. Now that the transfer to HSBC of house sale has failed I now only have small amount with HSBC on which to survive. KS&F have taken the lot. My life, retirement and pension now in total ruin and prospects of getting work in the UK at my age are dire. Within months I shall now be claiming benefits unless B&Q or Tesco have any vacancies for shelf stackers.

All invested in the Derbyshire - feel cheated and stupid that we didn't know that the "Strong Northern European Bank" was from Iceland. Work to hard to spend time looking at these things more fool us. We written to the Derbyshire asking for them to support us. They at least have a moral obligation since they sold us down the river.

GBP170,000. I didn't even know there was any Iceland connection. Invested with Derbyshire Int. some years ago. Never passed through my mind there would be Icelantic Bank in IOM take over a building society. I bet there are still lots of people with money here who don't even know what has happened - in more remote areas of world where this news will not reach them. Dubai

I've seen mention of a sum of £86m invested with KSFIOM. Having worked in financial services sector I am certain total deposits are likely to be close to 10 fold more than the £86m mentioned here. What a lot of people are missing is that a lot of life companies in Isle of Man, Dublin and UK would have monies of their clients placed in banks including Kaupthing, Just thought I'd highlight that a lot of the major financial services companies will also be trying to get money back for their clients and you be assured they will put the best legal teams in place to cover all legal angles that are available to them and this will only aid all of your efforts

I'm living in Ireland and I hope that each and every one of you get your hard earned money back.

I have GBP 151,000 at risk here too. We are depositors, not equity shareholders. There should not be any risk to us. We must ensure that UK, IOM, Island governments underwrite this, otherwise banking in future is ruined. This could be the start of the end of capitalism is not resloved.

£50K at KSF IOM and the same to Landsbanki. Both invested in 1-year fixed Bonds for retirement income because residence overseas prohibits onshore UK banking (legally at least). Looks like a very bleak future indeed. Legalised theft or what? So glad to know I'm propping up some tin-pot Nordic economy through my life's hard work and savings. Makes the UK pension look even more of an insult.
