To all still out there, a very Happy Christmas to you all. Thanks to the likes of Ng, Gordon and Anrigaut for their tireless information, assessment and research since the collapse and never waning in their assistance to the members. Time is marching on and the further away we get from October 2008, the better, as far as I'm concerned. However, too all, hopefully a peaceful (but profitable) 2013!

Rgds

I'd like to add my thanks to all who have worked so hard since October 2008. Thank you so much for keeping on to it so brilliantly, and for communicating and reporting so well. This site has been a lifeline.

The banks still seem to be getting away with it, and there must be very many people worse off than us because of the banks poor control, lax systems and seeming greed. Didn't I read last week that the average take-home this year for bankers is £1m.

I'll be taking my money out of HSBC when I get home. I don't want to contribute to their incredible $1.9bn fine for money laundering from drugs and terrorist activity, nor even to the fitting of bigger windows so the cash could more easily be deposited.

So to all of us, but not to the banks, a happy and rewarding 2013.

Thanks to those who keep this site running and those named above who analyse and explain how events unfold. And also for this amazing means of communication.

Happy Christmas to all!

We have certainly come far during the past few years and emerged well from the darkness of those early years. Its Christmas day and a time for celebration with our family and friends but lets also give a special mention and thanks to those who have relentlessly given much of their time and effort to keep us intelligently informed of actual events.

So on this special day I extend a very warm thanks to Gordon, Ice and others who have kept a level head throughout this process and whose kindness and concern in sharing their thoughts with us have certainly brought stability, peace and joy to us all.

May I just add my heartfelt thanks on behalf of myself and my mother.
Without the advice and guidance of the contributors on this site, I really don't know what we would have done over the last 4 years.

I still come on here regularly to see the latest news in order to update my mother.

Thank you once again and very best wishes for the New Year!

Thanks to you all for the very kind thoughts and wishes you express here; there is little for me to add to these gracious comments, save merely to say we are on the up-and-up and will continue this way in the New Year I'm sure!
Merry Christmas!

Well guys, another year has gone by.(well nearly) It just seems to have gone on and on.
How right was i in the early days. This bank was a fully going concern and should have been sold as one!!! The loan book was very strong and could have continued under the umbrella of a new parent bank.If the IOM goverment had not pissed us about so much, this would/should have been the way forward.
Anyway,we are where we are.I do hope you all have a wonderful Xmas and look forward to getting back even more of our money in the New Year.Maybe, just maybe, the thought of interest on our money may just get higher on the agenda!!!
Just a thought guys for those that are not with us,namely, JIM.
God bless us all!
Mark.

I would like to wish everyone still here a very happy and joyful Christmas and an even happier 2013.
Four years ago, I wouldn't have dared to be so bold.
We have come a long way together since then.
Particularly to Gordon , Anrigaut, Andy (ng), Ice, Glen, and many others - we owe you so much.
Please don't go away just yet.
Best wishes,
Q

Thanks Valentine and others for your kind words.

We have indeed come a long way. With 91% already paid and around another 3% already 'in the bag', here's hoping for continued progress in 2013 as we edge nearer and nearer the magical 100% which for so long seemed no more than an impossible dream. And who knows, maybe beyond that ....

Thanks to everyone who has played a part over the last 4 years, including those no longer very visible here who have not gone away and continue to play a role behind the scenes, notably our representatives on the CoI. We and they will not be going away any time soon!

Happy Christmas to all.

Indeed we have reason to be "Happy". 90% back already, 95% during 2013, and maybe 100% and interesting debates on interest sometime thereafter.
Particular thanks to the hardworking DAG analysts, rapporters, CofI and, dare I say it, the hardworking PwC Team.

I agree with your sentiments and wish everyone too, looking in, a very Merry Christmas where ever you are in the world and in particular to Gordon 45 and Ice crusher who’s words back all those years ago seemed like a fairy story but now, wow, looks more like 100% every day that passes. I hope we all keep our promise to Gordon 45 made by Glen I think, to buy him a pint if we ever where to reach 100%, oh no that’s right, it was the pub and we wouldn’t want to break anymore promises would we. Have a Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.

(What is the plural form of Christmas anyway?!?)

Some time back, somebody, I don't remember who, suggested we update the original our stories. The original ones are visible at http://www.ksfiomdepositors.org/public-page/our-stories and http://chat.ksfiomdepositors.org/node/21. The idea was to write where are we now stories.

The original our stories was a single forum topic, with everybody adding their story as a comment. Does anybody want to update theirs? See this thread
