Does anyone know any of the caveats attached to the IMF's loan to Iceland?

I would imagine that these are pretty stringent and we would all hope that there is one stating that they would have to honour financial financial guarentees previously made ie. the 'parent' gurantee of Kaupthing to the IOM sub.

The $2.1 billion IMF bail out of Iceland is only an ad referendum agreement. The final agreement is planned to be presented to the IMF Executive Board for approval in early November.

We have an opportunity to influence the final agreement.

Therefore, I suggest that we ask the IMF to make the honoring of parental guarantees to KSFIoM by Icelandic government and/or Kaupthing a condition of the IMF loan.

The IMF general e-mail is publicaffairs(?)imf [dot] org, and you can also send an e-mail specifically about Iceland to ISLContact(?)imf [dot] org I sent my mail to both of these addresses.
