DOES THE SCHEME COVER JOINT ACCOUNT HOLDERS?

Forgive my ignorance but can anyone tell me if the scheme will pay out to joint account-holders... my mother and sister have about 100k in their joint account , any advice greatly appreciated, im not a financial whizz and just want to give them both the best advice.
