We will be on IOM from the evening of 8th. till the morning of 10 April. I don't know how many of you will be there for this protest on 9th. but hope we are not alone. The ignominy on finding ourselves alone on the corner of whichever street it is over that we have to be on is not an appealing thought at all. Neither of us have ever demonstrated before and it is quite daunting for us. Notwithstanding, this we will do and do without hesitation or regret, whatever happens. There simply is no alternative. And whatever happens, the truth is that Derbyshire sold our savings which we had placed with them, without giving us any say in the matter. And the buyers 'Kaupthing' then deceives us too with its pledges of 100% guarantees as a 'North European Bank.' KSFIOM bank managers are no better either; they phoned us to say all was well when I expressed uncertainty with this new bank. Then IOM financial regulatory bodies allow the transfer of our deposits to UK and Darling subsequently seizes them for his own ends. And the IOM government is merely standing by timorously, cap in hand. And so it has been for almost 6 months, 6 months of anxiousness and humiliation. We can no longer endure this lack of concern by those who played their part in this scandal. Then there is all the horse-trading and wheeling and dealing that has been going on. The underhandedness in this whole affair adds isult to injury. We feel none of them are worthy of respect. So off we go to IOM in the knowledge that if we didn't, the injustice of this whole matter would eat away at us for ever. May I respectfully ask that if you too are going to be there could you simply post a comment on this site saying something like 'see you there.' Thank you, and best Wishes to all of you.

Peter and Louise,
Like so many other, distance precludes my attendance at the IoM hearing on he 9 April. I'm sure sure you, and the others who attend , will have the wholehearted support of all depositors in our fight for justice. It is appalling hat we are being treated in this way and 6 months down the road, we appear to be still at a loss as to the final outcome.
My very best wishes to you both.

Sorry I can't be there as living in Mauritius makes it an expensive trip. Wishing you all the best and hope you make an impressive show!

Would like to be there with you all and will be in spirit! Unfortunately I'm on the other side of the globe and therefore it's impossible more especially as all my funds are currently inaccessible!

Hope it goes well!

See you there!

I'll also be coming - taking the 1900 ferry on 8th.
Incidentally, for those who haven't received KA's email there is info about the day's action from the forum link under Actions and Strategy.

I am sorry I cannot attend.

I have fired off emails to my MP and MEP, just keeping up the pressure at this critical time.

Posted comments where I can in the IoM media, just wish I could do more

Good luck!

I remember the scenes outside the Icelandic Parliament Buildings in February huge crowds with bonfires surrounded the building day and night with Haarde, prime minister of Iceland, and his other politicians stuck inside the buildingtoo fearful to exit until the government had to back down and resign - this is the scenario for IOM - small building in the centre of town.

Please if you can DAG demonstrators please be this strong and forceful. No more "Mr.Nice Guy". No one wants to see any of our brtheres and siters hurt or arrrested, but please be as strong forceful and as effective as you can. May righteousness and justice prevail.

Tony Brown and Allan Bell need to know the seriousness of our suffering and pay the consequences for ruining our lives – Brown has to know how to stand up and fight for us against HMG and UK Treasury and get a loan not be so negative self interested and scared he has to stand up strong for the IOM too if he thinks he can save its banking future the only way he can save us our money and the future of the Isle of Man is get back into negotiations with HMG and stand strong not like worm or a pathetic naughty school boy as he presented himself at the TSC meeting in February. Our demonstration has to force his hand, mind and voice into action just like the Icelandic demonstration brought down the Haarde Government. No compromise. The loan no SOA or Liquidation and returns of our deposits 100%

Distraught as I was when I heard the bad news my father pointed at the tv screen at those icleandic protests. I said we have been ruined he turned round and said look at those people on the screen, look what they are doing they are fighting, that is what you are going to have to do. I always said we were too lame and polite from the start.

Sorry I can't make it - I wish you well.

If possible, it would be great if you could borrow someone's cat for the occasion to emphasise to the media that the TSC is placing animal protection above human suffering.

Good Luck.

Sorry but I am unable to travel from Downunder at this time.

IOM used to be a great place for holidays [was taken as a child - early '50s] by parents] so if you're there take a look round - some lovely places , Ramsey, Castletown, Port St Mary, Port Erin. Lovely coastal walks - so stay over Easter if you can. There used to be a nice narrow gauge steam passenger train that went most-places from Douglas near the ferry terminal - Don't known if it exists any more.

JUST A WORD OF CAUTION:

The arguments a Court will accept will be of a strictly legal kind, eg. pro - and against the DCS+Liquidation or the SOA, and which of them most benefits the "creditors as a whole." I do hope our Legal Team is working up some great Legal Arguments and presenting affidavit evidence on these points. If not I'll be very disappointed.

The Court in my view is not the place to blame politicians, or ask the British Government to bail out KSFIOM, though I'ld agree that would greatly help.

If you can get simple statements of your predicament written up (in Affidavit Form if possible) and send them to the Liquidator Provisional (or direct to the Court Registry) . 2500 of these would likely work wonders.

Beware of rogue elements , eg. like WEF & G20 Demonstrators. Getting a reputation for being "rough" WILL NOT BE HELPFUL.

Best wishes to all.

And take some sea-sickness pills!

Unfortunately, my husband and I will not be able to make it to the IOM on April 9, 2009 as we work overseas. However, my parents-in-law will represent us. I feel strongly that this opportunity to demonstate should not be missed. Together we can make a difference....

I will be there , I see most of you have booked the faster Liverpool crossing, you need to be back at the boat for 2.30pm, I suspect proceedings may go on longer than this and it would be a shame to go all that way to have to leave early.
Have booked the later Haysham crossing, a little slower but at least I will be there for the encore.
See you all there.
I noted there were over 2000 depositors with IOM addresses and over 3000 with UK.
Lets hope for a good turnout.

FP have advised me yesterday that the IOM Treasury had made the EPS 2 payment on Monday 30th, and it should be received within 5 working days. It has not yet been credited to the FP GTA account, and should clear on Monday 6th April.

ABOUT TIME TOO......wasn't this supposed to be in time for Christmas.....seeing as they couldn't get it in time for Jesus' birth they managed his death instead!
