Check it out: HERE

Anybody good at making banners?!
Anyone who can get to Trafalgar Square for 7am to 8am on September 12th, I'd be very, very glad to see a friendly face!
I know it's early.. but spare a thought for me.. I have to be there and hour and a half early!!

If you visit the oneandother site, www.oneandother.co.uk, have a look at the "plinthers" and watch some of the videos..
Any ideas for what to do for an hour as well as sing Manx Alchemy greatly appreciated!

There is a page for Nixi on www.kaupthingiom-dag.co.uk.
It is accessed via the trafalgar plinth button on the navigation index.

The page has a live feed link so you will be able to view Nixi on your computer. You might even get a glimps of other DAG members there in support of Nixi.

You can, of course, view other performers at any time that they are on the plinth.

Can those with cameras that can take videos take them with you to Trafalgar Square. The plinth may be too high to get good pictures but we can put together videos on ground level with Nixi and members of the DAG before and aafter his performance. Hope it is not raining but be prepared for it so that we do not waste this opportunity. Colourful umbrellas and raincoats if it is wet. Let's have your ideas. Conga line singing , Don't bank on the isle of Man? We need to engage the media, no use being boring. Nixi may be on the plinth but we have the whole of Trafalgar Square to play with.

Be careful about the message - this is London, not Douglas.

IMO, in order to make any impact, we need to concentrate on the UK role in all this, not the Isle of Man. HMG would probably be only to glad if we brought down IOM banks! In my view, this is not the place for the Don't bank on the IOM campaign. No-one in London will care about that little island! And HMG will be able continue to say it's an IOM affair - not what we want!

We need a public inquiry in the UK.

@Anrigaut: A little sophistication.

You say "HMG would probably be only to glad if we brought down IOM banks!"
No, this isn't correct. HMG(cognitive capture) work with IoMG. The financial services industry uses the 'offshorers'. It's a game Anrigaut. It's not a nice game. The rules might or might not be about to change (the Germans might be just be able to put a stick in the wheel) but for now we're looking at co-existence. I'll post later on some connections.

But you are correct in your proposition that we need a public inquiry. The devil is in exactly how (unlikely as the outcome may be) we might effectively lobby for one.

The DAG Campaign is on 2 Fronts - the IoM Front and the UK Front. It will be obvious by now that I am majoring on the IoM Front. The Trafalgar Square plinth is geared to action on the UK Front.
The enemy within this Chat Forum website is geared to smashing BOTH fronts. They are all talk but no action. They are recognised by their non existant works. They cause diversionary tactics by posts & comments that are designed to generate conflict & division, and to turn members against those who are true fighters for justice. In short they are wolves in sheeps clothing. You will NOT see them on Youtube.com or in Trafalgar Square so do not listen to their bleats.

I think you're probably right and specific examples would be good, however the biggest enemy within by far is APATHY.

There is DST who are beavering away behind the scenes. Most of us have no idea what they are doing but believe and trust that they are actively pursuing measures to get our money returned. DST ask nothing of us most of the time other than to continue a dialogue with MPs etc.

Then there are a number of people - most notably Conned - who are putting great effort into reaching the public with our social media campaign. This is a new venture for all of us and we are making mistakes but already we are having some small successes. Please please take the time and trouble to learn how to use this media - post the YouTube links to all your friends and ask them to pass on - you don't even need to say you are involved.

Don't make the mistake of believing social media is 'just for kids' - it isn't. It's a massively powerful new tool for business and for the public to be heard by MILLIONS. Unlike traditional advertising where money speaks this medium is free and controlled by people power. The louder you shout the more people will hear you so please please start shouting NOW by signing up for YouTube and Twitter. Post links everywhere you can and on Twitter use Buzzom.com to increase your followers.

Well i'm not an expert but firstly for our purposes you need to have as many followers as possible. The easiest way to do this is to use a service that gathers names. I use buzzom.com so i'll explain this one.

Go to www.buzzom.com
Type in your twitter username
Say allow when prompted
Then you have the option to flush, grow and reciprocate
for now use grow
a list of names appear on your screen
select all and press grow
when it's done press refresh names
then just repeat the last two steps over and over.

Do this every day or so.

Reciprocate works in a similar way to follow anyone who follows you
Flush gets rid of people who don't follow you back, you need to do this sometimes because:

There is a limit to how many people you can follow. To begin with you can follow up to 2000 people after that you can always follow 10% more than are following you.

In order to be interesting to the people who follow you make sure that you tweet often. You can say anything: what the weather is, what you had for lunch, quotes from books, absolutely anything goes.

You can retweet other people's messages - its a great idea to retweet anything you read on ksfiomdepositor feed. To retweet type RT@ followed by the name of the person and their message which you can do by using cut and paste.

You can also send direct messages - to message me just start your message @LorraineTerry.

The tweeting, retweeting and messaging are important to keep things moving. The more times the word ksfiomdepositor appears the better.

You can also tweet the url for the youtube videos with a message saying Check this out, awesome video and so on.

By the way if you go to help on twitter or buzzom you'll find all this info and more besides. It does get rather boring but stick with it and lets see what results we get.

I totally agree.

When deciding the message to convey, the main consideration is who the audience will be. Most will care little for the Isle of Man and the vast majority wouldn't think of depositing there. However, the vast majority would, I believe be interested to hear how the UK Government seized our money (albeit that the IoM foolishly handed it to them) and left its own citizens high and dry.

If I were walking past (and I wasn't a Japanese tourist) then I'd want to hear more...

Wish we could be there to offer support but am travelling back to Riyadh at the end of this week. Hope the press is there to spread the our plight. We all need a lucky break here, you have all worked so hard for so long and lord knows you deserve it. By the way, the FSC IOM have just answered my letter. They ignored all my points about why they were instrumental in the loss of my savings; they didn't try to offer excuses or even offer sympathy (which the FSA did). A very sanguine answer from FSCIOM which simply says: "The parental guarantee was a guarantee given from the parent to KSF(IOM) and the joint liquidators have stated they are pursuing that claim on behalf of the creditors. I enclose an extract from their report of July 2009." (signed Paul de Weerd, ACIS Senior Manager. Best Wishes and we will be with you in spirit, not that that is much consolation, I know but all the best

Song from a neighbour who is working on our behalf, not even a depositot, she is willing to do what she can to help. Hope you can use it Nixi.

This fits with the music 'Over the sea to Skye'

This isn't a joke
You could end up broke
Don't bank on the Isle of Man

The Isle of Man's Laws
Are fatally flawed
Don't bank on the Isle of Man

(This is the bit where the music goes higher)
Move your money with haste
Before it's too late
If you've banked on the Isle of Man

Like ten thousand of us
You could lose all your cash
Don't bank on the Isle of Man

To the tune of "Waltzing Matilda"

Once a sneaky Chancellor
sat at the Treasury
Thinking how he could save the Prime Minister's skin
Given that the latter had screwed up the economy
and if one sank then the other sank with him

Robbing the savers, robbing the savers
that would put some more cash in the pot
So he sat and he thought and he came up with a strategy
I'll rob the savers in the Isle of Man thought he

For the Isle of Man savers
can be shafted with impunity
They've got no vote in our democracy
And justice don't count as long as Gordon's pleased with me
I'll go a-robbing the savers said he

Robbing the savers, robbing the savers
he made sure their savings were in KSFUK
So that when he sprang his trap they had no state protection
And HMG could take their savings away

And he needed that money
since he had chosen then to pay
one hundred percent to those in KSFUK
and to refill the pot to compensate the government
Isle of Man savers cash would go a long way

Robbing the savers, robbing the savers
its ok to rob manx pete, english paul for to pay
But I don't agree since to pay Paul the Englishman
Darling took most of my savings away.

And when I sit down and think of what has happened
I think what a stink, is this justice.. oh no
Dress it up how you like, that Darling is a sheer disgrace
I hope his Mum is proud though I can't imagine so

Robbing the savers, robbing the savers
Is this what you went into politics to do?
And I hope that you choke when you're dining on expenses
since you robbed the savers let fate save that for you

Don't know if you can use this Nixi but you can change the words is you want to.
To the tune of We will, we will rock you, by Queen

Gordon Brown is a big disgrace
Telling lies all over the place
chorus, we will, we will haunt you

Darling Al is a big disgrace
hyjacking savings he won't replace
chorus, we will, we will haunt you

Jack Straw is a big disgrace
Doing nothing not showing his face
chorus, we will, we will haunt you

Cameron Dave is a big disgrace
Keeping quiet to save his face
chorus, we will, we will haunt you

perhaps you could sing the first two lines and the depositors could come in with a rousing chorus. we will, we will haunt you!! Audience participation.

It could go on for hours like 'hey Jude.'

I have had very little response to the car bumper sticker idea.

This would IOM be effective at a demonstration in London aimed at the HMG

I think they should be stuck all over the City of London.

The stickers I have in mind would be eye catching red and white

They would cost about 184 pounds for 500 ( this is a quote from a US site)

I can send the idea who ever contacts me sample ideas

I dont know if we can produce our own.

We also need badge stickers to identify ourselves.

Any comments/ideas ?

I really want to join but am in Toronto -
I was pushing weekly in the first 3 months of this debacle to get people to demonstrate .
I must have had about 12 people interested.

I kept saying that demonstrations disrupt and bring attention but I could have been talking about the price of rice in China for all the interest it received !

People I think in the first few months didnt realise that we would be chasing our money for years so just sat back - I had a person already to create wooden placards etc and could have done 100s for about 250

Manx Alchemy is great - you should certainly sing it on the plinth.

BUT since this is in the heart of London, surely we absolutely MUST have another song about the UK involvement? Darling, Gordon and (the last) Straw, FSA, sealed papers, terrorism act, not all British savers saved etc etc ??? It would be a great mistake for us to appear to be reinforcing HM Treasury's claim that it's all a matter for the IoM - they might even use it as propaganda to confirm their position!!

Who can help nixi with words for this?

Anrigaut: This is an excellent observation and you are so right about targetting the perpetrators (villains) of our demise. Sure, the IoM were the last ones to touch our money before it left their control, but HMG were the instigators and could have diplomatically returned KSFIoM's asset if it really cared about the wealth and welfare of all British depositors, instead they let 11,000 of us suffer because of the mistakes made by the FSC - the same FSC that they supposedly had a Memorandum of Understanding with!

Not only that, but the IoMG FSC were not the only regulators put in this same (extremely coincidental) position. The Guernsey regulator was led up the same garden path at roughly the same time and again, instead of seeing that a mistake costing thousands of non-UK-bank British citizens their life-savings had been made, HMG implicated itself in this orchestration by refusing to return Guernsy's asset prefering that they also should suffer for the mistakes of the regulator and bank's directors. HMG's position in this is pure poison and spiteful vindictiveness and if anyone can conjure up a couple more verses containing phrases condemning it in this way then all the better.

A great idea! Jenren has offered to produce flyers (below). What is the difference between a leaflet and a flyer? In either case, does anyone know roughly how many words would be needed (ie how succinct)? Would Lucky Jim's text on the issues (on his website) provide a good starting point? If so I could try to adapt it, maybe with help from Ice. Thoughts please.

Updated: Ice and I are now collaborating on a leaflet/flyer. Hopefully something will come out of it.

Come on any others who can help with a room for the night or share the outlay for conned's journey to London. Please contact re helping to pay for room.

Thanks for your support. I need to book a hotel near Trafalgar Square for Friday night so that I do not have a journey to get there for 7 am. I have to do things the easy way these days. I hope others will give Nixi support too.

Can you take a sad looking dog with you? Take an umbrella in case it rains and do , 'singing in the rain.' Take a Top Hat and sing, 'hats off to the Isle of Man, hats off to the IOM, they took all our money, etc., Put out a hat and collect donations. Cheques would be good. Well you did ask!!
