Has anyone approach BBC WatchDog. They are helping people who bought Bulgarian Properties that haven't been completed and have lost tens of thousands of pounds.

Maybe the plight of some of our investors would wash with them?

Please be very careful how you choose your words. I too saw the programme about the unfortunate people who invested in Bulgarian property.

We however are Depositors who placed our savings in a retail bank expecting firstly the safe-keeping of our money and secondly to earn interest upon it. We were not speculating on holiday homes in Bulgaria "in the hope of achieving profit" - the definition of Investment.

My apologies for appearing pedantic, however there is a vast difference between being a depositor and an investor. This was discussed in full and at length here:

Some might call me an investor for holding foreign currency in an offshore account. Putting pounds into dollars is something an investor might do.
The point is, that between us, we know whom/what we are trying to represent.
Getting a programme like Watchdog to embarrass the Isle of Man authorities - in particular John Aspden - would have a certain influence on things and may keep us shouting loud as we have to do to the outside world - not one another over terminology.
Foreign Currency investors seem like they're going to be doubly stung under the SOA unless things have changed following today's hearing.

Perhaps, but we prefer to be

Perhaps, but we prefer to be known as depositors rather than investors!
