I have been wracking my brains to think of action you could all take to further our cause but it is extremely difficul to think of something that asks you to do more than gaze at your navels. I thought I had managed to reduce your input to the minimum by asking you to stick a stamp on an envelope and send it to the Tynwald but seems that was too much to ask. If we could get enough of you motivated we could send thousands of letters to the Tynwald once a month, which would bring them to a grinding halt. ANYONE UP FOR IT?

Would faxing help? Cheaper than a stamp, faster to arrive, could be automated. We could have a system automatically sending out faxes "signed" by individual depositors, to multiple destinations (as many as we have fax numbers for). Arguably less effective than a real letter though, and perhaps wouldn't give individuals the satisfaction of feeling that they're doing something. Nonetheless, for those that prefer the armchair and remote control approach.

A system running automatically capable of sending thousands of faxes pay day to numerous destinations? Probably OTT and arguably spam. A better alternative perhaps:

  • Selection of pre-written letters here on the site (needed anyway.)
  • A click here to send this letter as a fax link.
  • An option to edit or add your own personal text.
  • An option to choose where it would be sent (single or multiple destinations).
  • All from the comfort of your own PC.

A system to send automated physical letters is another possibility.

I posted on this topic a couple of months ago. Nobody seemed very interested. Too much technology perhaps, or doesn't address the real need?
