DAG Treasurer

Dear Fellow Depositors,

As you may have seen there are several initiatives underway to consolidate and improve the organisation and leadership structure of the DAG. Until now the finance duties have been performed by members of the Strategy team who are better qualified to perform other roles such as campaigning, PR, legal and so on. The DAG Strategy team have asked me to take on the role of DAG Treasurer in order to allow them to focus on these important tasks.

The duties will include:

• Managing the bank account, Paypal account and other funding channels
• Helping to manage the Fighting Fund within an agreed budget and available funding
• Assisting with fund raising
• Maintaining accounts and providing receipts for donations
• Providing reports on the financial activities of the DAG
• Advising the DAG Strategy Team on financing and accounting issues
• First point of contact for Depositors regarding their donations

I am also in the process of taking over responsibility for the Lloyds TSB and Paypal accounts. I expect this to be completed in the next week or two. Once this is done I will do my best to acknowledge receipt of all donations.

Most likely we will be setting up a Limited Company or similar structure in which to fit the DAG. This is primarily so that we do not expose individuals in the DAG to unlimited liability though there are further benefits in terms of DAG’s overall credibility. I am currently drafting the formation documents for the new company.

Like the other members of the Strategy Team I am a volunteer and I do not have unlimited time and resources. But like all other Depositors I am also determined to do all I can to see the speedy return of all our funds. As both Treasurer and Depositor I will be doing my best to support this objective.
