Subscribe to Site Updates

I am trying to minimise use of the bulk email feature that we have, since it has no opt-out option it is best reserved only for vital messages (such as security warnings.)

So, to make sure that you receive potentially important announcements about the site, please make sure you have subscribed to the Site Updates thread:

  • Go to Site Updates (shown in top menu) or click here
  • Look at the Subscriptions block in the left sidebar.
  • Make sure that This post is checked. If not, check it and click Update.

You should then receive an email notification every time anything is posted in the Site Updates thread, such as today's notification about server downtime. You can cancel the subscription at any time.

Subscribe to Actions and tasks

For similar reasons, it's probably a good idea to be subscribed to Actions and Tasks so that you will receive email when one (like this one) gets created. Once viewing an Action/Task post, the Subscriptions block on the left will offer the option to subscribe to Posts of type Action or task.
You can see a list of all actions/tasks by searching all content by type or by clicking HERE which does the same.

Background information

More information about Notifications/Subscriptions can be found HERE.

Note: if you are reading this in email the above links will not work unless you prefix them with - this minor annoyance will be addressed shortly.
