Click on all the Actions and Tasks individually to view them. Every time you click one, it disappears from your list of outstanding Actions and Tasks.

Otherwise they will never be disappear from the list!

When you finally get through all of them, the list will be empty and the Actions and Tasks box will itself disappear, so taking up no space on the page. For new members, this may mean you will see some actions which are no longer relevant, but once you are up to date, only new actions will be displayed.
